The unique freshness of RINGANA.

When it comes to foodstuffs, we’ve all known for ages that fresh products are better than those that are artificially preserved. But not everyone realises that the same goes for skin care products. The RINGANA founders knew this right from the start: that which is best at keeping our skin young, loses its efficacy fastest. That’s why freshness is so crucial.

Freshness is RINGANA’s DNA. Because when the founders, Andreas Wilfinger and Ulla Wannemacher started making skin care products, freshness was the key point. It was their dissatisfaction with what was available on the market that drove them to make skin care products themselves – not just any old skin care, but rather products that were absolutely fresh.

One thing that the founders knew for sure from the word go: they would only find real efficacy in nature. After years of hard work, a huge amount of idealism, and many findings, their completely new approach to skin care finally reached fruition: fresh skin care. The RINGANA Fresh concept is made up of many different building-blocks:

 

#1 Freshness means more than just
cutting out artificial preservatives.

To make RINGANA products, we use natural raw materials that are absolutely pure and effective. We use no mineral oil-based substances, stabilisers, PEG emulsifiers, formaldehyde, silicones, nano particles and other environmentally harmful substances. In addition, no raw materials of animal origin or from genetically-modified organisms go into our products. 

 

#2 Freshness means opportunities.

“Artificial preservatives, mineral oils and the like are not only questionable but they have no influence on a product’s efficacy,” says founder Andreas Wilfinger. By leaving them out, there is more room for a unique concentration of active substances. At RINGANA we use sensitive, highly antioxidant substances because our objective is to create high-end products with a concentrated effect. It’s a simple calculation: maximum concentration of active substances means maximum efficacy.

#3 Freshness means naturalness.

We set huge store by using ingredients of natural origin, and we process our ingredients gently – aiming to leave them as natural as possible. This allows all of the valuable ingredients to release their natural efficacy. To get the best out of the raw materials and concentrate it, they are gently dried, fermented, distilled, extracted, etc.

#4 Nature is our role model.

For millions of years, organisms have proved incredibly adaptable in the face of hostile conditions, be it extreme drought, heat or cold. Right up to the present day, extreme environmental conditions are causing plants to develop anti-stress substances in order to survive, so that they are armed against many external influences. Humans also benefit from these substances, known as extremolytes. Our fresh concept relies on the use of these highly sensitive, secondary plant protection substances. Naturally, the addition of extremolytes alone is not enough to make a highly effective product. Rather it is their interaction with other ingredients that creates synergy effects – bringing out the best not only in themselves but also in other plants.

 

#5 That which is best at keeping
us young, loses its efficacy fastest.

Oxygen can change or even spoil the aroma and flavour of plant oils. To protect our fresh, natural, high-potency substances, we package our products in innovative and patented airless containers. These stop oxygen from getting in. Because oxygen is the main reason why highly effective substances rapidly lose their efficacy, or microorganisms may pollute the product. We also use valuable natural antioxidants that not only protect the skin against oxidative stress. Because it is namely through the use of antioxidants that other substances in the product are protected, allowing them to develop their effects on and in the skin. Tocopherols and tocotrienols in oils are some examples of the natural substances we use.

 

#6 Short shelf-life is a quality factor.

RINGANA products have an expiry date and we’re proud of that. Because it’s proof of absolute freshness. And this is only possible in the first place because we use sensitive, highly antioxidant natural substances. All of our processes – from procurement and processing to logistics and packaging – are optimised to ensure guaranteed, unique freshness.

 

#7 A key prerequisite of freshness is fast product turnover.

Fast-moving items are goods that spend only a short time in the warehouse before they leave it again. RINGANA only has fast-moving products in its portfolio. “If there is no longer so much demand for a product, we discontinue it,” Andreas Wilfinger explains. “Because our Fresh philosophy calls for rapid turnover.“

 

#8 RINGANA concentrates on what really matters.

“If we were to produce dozens of different shampoos and shower gels, we would no longer have this fast turnover,” Andreas Wilfinger reveals. That is why RINGANA offers only one highly effective shampoo or shower gel, for example, instead of having to accept shortfalls in efficacy because of countless different versions.

#9 Quality instead of quantity.

We deliberately keep our range of products limited. The production of new products goes hand in hand with the highest standards. This can also mean that we sometimes phase out products. However, instead of constantly developing new products, we regularly update the existing ones, optimising them and upgrading them in line with the latest scientific findings. The aim of every product makeover is to improve the product.

 

“All of these factors are elements of the freshness promise that we can give, thanks to our dedicated employees,” Wilfinger and Wannemacher say. “So, logically, naturalness and sustainability are much more for RINGANA than mere trends – they are where our roots lie.”
